Adaptive Adventures Receives $5,000 Grant from The UPS Foundation
Denver, CO – September 1, 2011 – Adaptive Adventures received a $5,000 grant from The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS (NYSE:UPS). The grant will be used to support Adaptive Sports for Kids (ASK), a program of Adaptive Adventures, designed to provide year around sports opportunities for children and young adults with physical disabilities.

Children with disabilities are one of the most isolated and disadvantaged groups in our country. Funding from UPS Foundation will be a vital part of the quality and growth of our youth program and increase the number of lives impacted by Adaptive Adventures sports rehabilitation opportunities. Use of funds will include the purchase of adaptive equipment for winter and summer programs, contracting with experts in specific sports areas for children, improving inner city marketing, and expanding professional development for our existing staff. Once we have the necessary equipment, it is essential that Adaptive Adventures continues to develop the resources and infrastructure to provide innovative programs for kids.
With less than 10 percent of Adaptive Adventures’ total revenues derived from program fees, it is only through corporate and community support that we can provide life changing sports and recreational experiences for disadvantaged disabled children in the community.
“We are so excited to have been awarded a grant from UPS to support our kids programs,” noted George Mannion, Chairman of Adaptive Adventures and Managing Partner of Lodos Bar and Grills. “Funding form UPS is a huge step towards our organization fulfilling our mission by expanding our resources to impact the lives of kids with disabilities through sports.”
